Although the song was released by Led Zeppelin in 1971, another band by the name of “Spirit” sued Zep in 2016, claiming the song had been copied their song, “Taurus,” which had been released 3 years earlier. Although many musicians, including Led Zeppelin’s guitarist Jimmy Page, have been known to “borrow” riffs and lyrics from other songs, Spirit actually made quite a case for copyright infringement.
