Who is the oldest girl on Love Island?

Sophie Gradon from season two was 30 years old, making her one of the oldest women to ever appear on the show. The age of 29 seems to be a common one as the likes of Laura Anderson, Tom Walker, Anna Vakili and Marvin Brooks all appeared at that age.

Love Island 2022 has only just begun, but already fans have been treated to backstabbing besties, partner-stealing bombshells, and surprising sex positions (we’ll never look at oysters the same way again). One of the biggest talking moments so far is the age of contestant Gemma Owen. Dressage rider Gemma, daughter of footballer Michael Owen, is a veritable foetus at the age of 19 – leaving some fans ‘uncomfortable’ when she shared a kiss with fellow islander Davide Sanclimenti, who is 27.

But is she the youngest Islander of all time – and who is the oldest singleton to have entered the villa in the pursuit of love?

Here is everything you need to know.

Who are the youngest Love Island contestants of all time?

Surprisingly, Gemma is not the youngest contestant to have ever appeared on the ITV2 show. In the third season of Love Island, Casa Amor introduced the youngest-ever singleton, Amelia Peters at just 18 years old. Sadly, the teaching assistant failed to make an impression on any of the original boys, despite sharing a bed with Kem Cetinay, and left after a very brief stint. In 2015, Bethany Rogers entered the Love Island villa at just 19 years old, and Emma Jane Woodham – who infamously made headlines for her bedroom antics with Terry Walsh in season two – was also just 19. The youngest winners are Amber Davies and Finn Tapp, who were 20 years old when they won the third and sixth series respectively.

Who are the oldest Love Island contestants of all time?

We all know old is not really old when it comes to Love Island contestants, but the eldest ever hopefuls to have appeared on the reality show have been in their early 30s. Jordan Ring (series one), Marcel Somerville (series three) and Paul Knops (series four) were all 31 when they went looking for love in the famous villa, making them the oldest contestants overall to enter through those doors of love. Sophie Gradon from season two was 30 years old, making her one of the oldest women to ever appear on the show. The age of 29 seems to be a common one as the likes of Laura Anderson, Tom Walker, Anna Vakili and Marvin Brooks all appeared at that age. Cara De La Hoyde and Jack Fincham are the oldest winners of all time – they were both 26 years old when they won the second and fourth series respectively. So far in 2022, Davide and Andrew Le Page are the oldest contestants at 27.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

Along with books, notebooks, pens, and pencils — new research shows music may also help children achieve better grades. Market research company OnePoll, on behalf of CSU Global, surveyed 2,000 Americans about their music and study habits and found that those who play music were likelier to have a GPA. Half the respondents said they regularly listened to music while studying. Sixty percent of the respondents said they studied better with sound on in the background.

Other findings include:

58% of 18- to 25-year-olds said they listened to music while studying

Two in three Americans listen to music while working

For those who do listen to music while studying, 80% of respondents said that it’s therapeutic and three in four respondents said music helped them absorb information more "There are a variety of platforms students can tap into to aid their studying habits, whether it’s an instrumental music playlist on Spotify, a soothing meditation on Calm, or rain sounds on YouTube," Dr. Christina Agvent, program director of teaching and learning at CSU Global said to talker.news. "There is something out there to fit every student’s preferences and study styles." RELATED: Long Island siblings that were born prematurely overcome obstacles, ready for college

So what music goes best with studying?

Results showed classical music is the best choice when studying. R&B, classic and country followed. At the bottom of the list were pop/top 100 and instrumental soundtrack. "Listening to music while studying can be an extremely helpful tool for some students in improving their focus," Dr. Agvent said.
