The Love Island villa can get pretty messy - and not just in the dramatic sense. With so many people coming and going it must be hard to keep tabs on who owns what clothes. And also difficult keeping everywhere clean and tidy with days of filming and some creative challenges. As we saw earlier in the latest season, the girls left the dressing room in a right mess. Contestant Amber Beckford cringed after discovering the boys had caught a glimpse of the untidy room within 24 hours of knowing each other. We also never see the contestants eating on screen so can only imagine that they either make dull meals, or have someone else do it for them. We take a look at how pampered the islanders really are while on the ITV2 dating show.

According to OK!, the islanders are encouraged to keep the villa clean and tidy themselves whether that's picking up their dirty clothes are tidying away any used dishes. A spokesperson explained: "They are encouraged to clean up after themselves." However, to ensure that the villa remains in tip-top condition there are also hired cleaners on hand to give it a proper cleanse. While it's been rumoured cleaners attend the premises every day, a spokesperson previously told OK! this is not the case, but that there are people on hand to give the villa a little tidy up every so often. ITV2 stated: "Cleaners do go in periodically to clean the villa." It's also reported that the contestants also have their laundry collected and washed once a week. This includes bedsheets. A spokesperson said: "The sheets are changed every few days."

Do Love Island contestants make their own food?

While contestants are often seen making their own breakfast as they try to impress their beau's with scrambled eggs, smashed avocado and a coffee, we never get to see them eating dinner or tea. It's almost become a tradition for boys of the villa to make the girls tea and coffee first thing in the morning, but it's a different matter for their midday and evening meal. Previous contestants have shared behind-the-scene secrets in the past of how they get fed. It turns out there is a catering station, with chefs on hand to make food for the contestants and all the production team. It usually consists of barbecued meats and a range of salads, according to The Mirror. Amber Davies, who starred in Love Island's 2017 series, told how it was "lovely food" made by the villa chefs. She said: "You get to eat a selection of food and it's lovely food. You do get to choose what to eat, and it all comes in separate containers." As well as cooked meals, the islanders also have access to a fully stocked fridge. They are able to eat snacks throughout the day.
