What is bad piano technique?

Additional comment actions. Sitting at the wrong height Tense shoulders Bad hand position Poor pedalling Poor fingering choices.

I've seen considerable emphasis regarding the problem of adquiring a bad technique, something which, in a more abstract level, I totally agree. Being a classical violinist I have seen what bad technique can do to some player and how it inhibits them from being better players, this also justifies to great extent the need for a teacher who can correct what you literally can't see.
