What time signature is jazz?

4/4 4/4 is the most used time signature in jazz because it´s not as closed as 2/4 and 3/4 and allows more rhythmic variations inside the bar. There´s a difference between jazz standards composed with an unusual time signature and jazz standards composed in 4/4 and played with an unusual time signature.
