Let’s learn the blues scales on piano and keyboard in every key.

Firstly, how do you form a blues scale? A blues scale consists of 6 different notes, namely the root, flat 3rd, 4th, flat 5th, 5th and flat 7th of the major scale: 1 – b3 – 4 – b5 – 5 – b7. For instance, in the C blues scale the notes are C – Eb – F – Gb – G – Bb – C. The flat third, flat fifth and flat seventh notes of the scale are the blue notes of the scale. My #1 Recommendation: Go here to learn about the BEST piano/keyboard course I’ve seen online. Also, you can form this scale with the formula, Minor 3rd – Whole Step – 1/2 Step – 1/2 Step – Minor 3rd – Whole Step

Can you learn classical and jazz at the same time?

There is no progression; both languages are just as hard to learn. They are different languages but they are similar enough that you will seriously mess with yourself and end up not learning either if you do both at the same time. It's the same thing here.

I have a long term goal of learning to play and improvise on jazz music. I have been playing piano for sometime but did not recently start taking it seriously until about a year ago maybe a little less. But i recently went to a jazz camp at FSU and most of the other kid there all played some form of classical music. So as soon as i got back i decided to ask my piano teacher to give me some classical stuff to work on so i can improve my fingering, rhythm, sight reading and ect. But at the same time i want to learn jazz so i have been attempting to play a lead sheet. Is this safe to do or will i mess up my rhythm and technique? and also can i learn jazz and classical at the same time and still become really great at jazz, or is it like i have to pick either or? thanks for all your feedback and advice//help.
