Firstly, what are the notes of the F major scale? Its notes are F G A Bb C D E. The chords in the F major key make use of these seven notes. Each chord is named after one of these notes. The pattern for naming chords in every major key is Major Minor Minor Major Major Minor Diminished. Chord I is a major chord, chord ii is a minor chord, chord iii is a minor chord, chord IV is a major chord, chord V is a major chord, chord vi is a minor chord and lastly, chord vii° is a diminished chord.
