Best-selling Jazz Albums of All Time (RIAA); or "There's No Money in Jazz"

A list by Rifugium

[List325800] | +10

Here is a list of the highest selling jazz (and jazz fusion) albums based on RIAA info. This list is meant to be informative only...again, based on record sales, and not the opinion of myself or any individual I know of. This is not necessarily a "BEST OF" list of the genre--and certainly not in my book--though I did find myself pleasantly surprised at some of these entries. I'm not sure if this list will be informative in anyway to anyone, but since I couldn't seem to find anything similar on the interwebs, here you go. *Note: As I only used certification info, items may be out of order based on ~exact~ album sales, the numbers of which I don't know for sure. In these cases, I listed albums of like certification in order of the dates that they received the certification. For example, I assume _Time Out_ has sold more than _Bitches Brew_ since the former went platinum in '97, and the latter in '03. But of course, this may not be accurate...in these cases, it's just an estimation. *Note 2: You may notice the absence of cheese jazz like Diana Krall and Kenny G. Oh well, let's just focus on the real stuff and call it a day. Basically, not including smooth/cool jazz here. *Note 3: You may also notice how [insert any given generic mainstream crap pop artist] can outsell everything on this list combined with one album. Don't worry, it depresses me too.
