Everyone then simply assumes that they learn quickly when in actual fact they have been playing for many years. It is therefore vital to have all the statistics before we make judgements that negatively affects the adult piano learning community.

The truth is: you are talented

You have unlimited talent. You could not exhaust all your potential and ability, even if you lived 500 lifetimes! The truth is we all have an amazing brainpower. Our brain has over 20 billion cells and each cell is connected to other cells. We possess a miracle within! You are basically only using a limited amount of your talent on a daily basis. And that is exactly why you can go so much further than you can imagine when learning how to play the piano as an adult beginner. The problem will never lie with your talent, but rather with your practice habits. We always advise at least 15 minutes a day for adult beginner piano students.

Why it is never too late to start learning the piano

Whether you learn how to play the piano at the age of five or 50 makes no difference, as you will have to go through the same learning process. The truth is that it is never, simply never too late to start learning the piano. Your piano development largely depends upon the time and effort you put into it along with the quality of tuition that you will receive. Practising the piano is essential when learning how to play the piano. There is simply no other way around it.
