This article is about musical key characteristics and emotions

It can help you choose a key that is associated with specific feelings before you create music.

This key-emotion theory was standard before the 20th century.

It was part of the music culture.

Both the creator and the audience knew the emotion’s intentions when the creator used a specific key.

John Mattheson had written about this theory in Germany in 1713.

Later on, Rita Steblin translated his work in her book “A History of Key Characteristics in the 18th and Early 19th Centuries in 1983.” There is no black and white here, before choosing a key try some keys and make your decision.

Keep reading to find the key you need 🙂

Who is the god of calm?

Personification of relaxation, meditation and hallucinations in Greek mythology

Not to be confused with Pasiphaë

In Greek mythology, Pasithea (Ancient Greek: Πασιθέα means "relaxation"), or Pasithee, was one of the Charites (Graces), and the personification of relaxation, meditation, hallucinations and all other altered states of consciousness. The Charites are usually said to be the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome, but Pasithea's parentage is given (by the poet Nonnus) as Hera[1] and Dionysus.[2] She was married to Hypnos, the god of sleep.[3]

Family [ edit ]

Her sisters are Aglaea ("Splendor"), Euphrosyne ("Mirth"), and Thalia ("Good Cheer"). In Roman mythology they were known as the Gratiae, the "Graces". In book 14 of Homer's Iliad, Pasithea was one of the younger Charites. Hera promises her in marriage to Hypnos the god of sleep in exchange for him ensuring Zeus was temporarily removed from the action of the Trojan War.[4] Robert Graves thinks that Homer also mentions the names of two Charites, Pasithea and Cale ("Beauty"), but the two Charites Homer used for Hesiod's Aglaea. Although the Graces usually numbered three, according to the Spartans, Cleta, not Thalia, was the third, and other Graces are sometimes mentioned including Auxo, Hegemone, Peitho and Phaenna.
