Ed Sheeran is now a dad twice over, recently welcoming a second daughter with his wife Cherry Seaborn. The singer announced the happy news on Instagram on Thursday alongside a photo of a tiny pair of white baby socks lying on a brown blanket in a bassinet. “Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl,” he wrote in the caption. “We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4.” Sheeran and Seaborn are also parents to two-year-old daughter Lyra Antarctica who was born in August 2020. The couple announced the news of their first child's birth the same way they did the second, taking everyone by surprise with a photo of a pair of black baby socks on a blue and green blanket posted to Sheeran's Instagram. “Ello! During an appearance on the Ellen Show in December, Sheeran said that the birth of Lyra finally gave him a sense of purpose outside of his work. He explained, “I just found that I really didn't have purpose outside of [music] because when I was giving myself fixed time of no work, I wasn't doing anything I enjoyed because I love doing music. And [being a dad] has actually given me purpose and something in life that's actually more important than my job.” And back in July, shortly after the birth of Prince Harry's second child, Lilibet, Sheeran and the royal bonded over fatherhood and having baby girls.
