Is Carolyn and Daniel still together?

'We have gone our separate ways' There's no right way to deal with these situations. There's a huge pressure to just hold off going public for as long as possible 'cause you know all the hate that's gonna come.” The personal trainer-turned-3D designer then wished Carolina “all the best” in her future.

Just over three weeks after announcing their split on social media and wishing one another the best, Married At First Sight stars Daniel Holmes and Carolina Santos’ breakup has turned nasty. When Daniel announced the split on August 8, however, they were still following each other on social media. Currently, it appears that they are yet to delete any posts together and all of their loved-up captions remain unedited.

Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted both Daniel and Carolina for comment.

‘We have gone our separate ways’

“I'm getting bombarded so much at the moment, considering all the articles out right now about the status of Carolina and I,” he wrote. “I think it's been obvious for a while we have gone our separate ways. There's no right way to deal with these situations. There's a huge pressure to just hold off going public for as long as possible 'cause you know all the hate that's gonna come.” The personal trainer-turned-3D designer then wished Carolina “all the best” in her future. “And I know she feels the same for me,” he added. “We had a very unique experience together full of every emotion possible but life just has a different plan for us.”

Brent’s relationship update

The update comes shortly after the pair’s season nine co-star Brent Vitiello and his new girlfriend, Australian model Taylor Davey, told Yahoo Lifestyle that they almost got married during a recent trip to Las Vegas.

The pair explained that they had had a few close encounters at Eros Sydney and the Sydney airport before connecting on social media and meeting up for the first time in Las Vegas. “She told me Vegas was amazing and said we should head there to catch up,” Brent recalled. “I then looked at the boys and said, ‘This is going to be a real love story, I can feel it. Just watch’. So we all went to Vegas… and it was a love story.” “We almost got married in Vegas!” she said. “After three days together we just said to the driver, ‘Take us to a chapel!’” “But I fell asleep before we got there!” Brent added with a laugh. “We would have really got married if I didn’t fall asleep.”

Are raspy voices more attractive?

Husky voices signal "sexual interest" and can help women stand out from the crowd, say researchers. Perhaps less surprisingly, the study found men also drop their pitch when they meet women they are attracted to.

London - Next time a woman drops a few octaves as she says hello, don’t be alarmed – it may just be she fancies you. Husky voices signal "sexual interest" and can help women stand out from the crowd, say researchers. Perhaps less surprisingly, the study found men also drop their pitch when they meet women they are attracted to. However, the finding that women subconsciously do this only applied when chatting to men for whom there was a lot of competition. If a man was considered worth dating but was not fancied by more than 50 percent of other women, they would use a higher-pitched, more "feminised"speech style, researchers found. Lead author Katarzyna Pisanski, of Sussex University, said: "Although women spoke with a higher and more variable voice pitch toward men they selected as potential mates, women lowered voice pitch toward men who were most desired by other women and who they also personally preferred." She said the apparent contradiction could be resolved because "a relatively high voice pitch in women can signal youth, femininity and reproductive fecundity". A lower pitch, on the other hand, could signal "sexual interest and intimacy", and may also be used to show "competence, trustworthiness and leadership". The research also appeared to confirm that women are "the choosier sex", the authors said. Women showed a preference for only one third of their dates, while men were interested in half of women they met. The study, which is published in the Royal Society Journal, was based on a speed-dating event with 30 adult men and women.
