It's the biggest reality TV show in the UK right now, with thousands of singletons applying to be on Love Island. Of course, who wouldn't want to sit around a pool all day in Mallorca trying to crack on with some VERY good looking people in a stunning villa?

Now, one mystery of the show has (at last) been cleared up. The eternal conundrum of how much Love Island contestants get paid to appear on the show.

We've always wondered how their rent gets paid when they’re on the show. Do they all quit their jobs beforehand? How long can one really live on ropey nightclub PAs and #spon posts?

How much do Love Island contestants get paid?

The contestants get paid £250 a week to appear on the show, which really isn't much at all when you think about it. Back in 2019, Daily Star reported that series five Islanders would receive £250 per week to 'compensate' the time they'd be giving up to be in the villa. It might not seem a huge amount but for all the Islanders who were on the show from start to finish, they made a cool £2000 for sitting around the luxurious villa. Not bad.

They get free food and accommodation and condoms as well, so – winning?

How much do Love Island winners get?
