Fortunately, some of my first teachers were excellent and gave me a great foundation to start from. Piano teachers not only have an effect just from a skill perspective, but also from an encouragement standpoint. The piano should be something you’re confident in rather than a skill you’re negative about because it isn’t perfect. The expectation should be to work diligently and grow over time.
