The rocker was playing with his group in LA when the girl made an appearance at the front desk and asked to meet him. Rod, now 75, initially sent his guitarist Jim Cregan out to see what she wanted. Jim immediately saw that the youngster was the spitting image of Rod - because she has dimpled cheeks and a distinctive "hooter". Rod, then 45, then discovered the 21-year-old - Sarah Streeter - was the product of an affair he had when he was 18 which was immortalised in his hit song Maggie May.

Jim, 74, described the story on the 'Stars Cars Guitars' podcast.

Jim said: "So we're in the Cherokee Recording Studios in Los Angeles making an album and there's a call from the front desk. 'And this voice says 'there's a girl out here who says she's Rod Stewart's daughter and she wants to come in'. "And Rod says to me 'go and have a look will you, I don't know anything about this'. "So I go out into reception and she's got the dimpled chin, and she's got the hooter. "I take one look at her and think 'oh god okay',so I go back in the room and say 'I hate to break it to you mate, either she's had plastic surgery or she's a dead ringer'. "It turns out it was the Maggie May story, the daughter from that relationship was adopted, they were only kids. "Maggie, she wasn't really a Maggie of course. And Rod was just 18 so they put this girl up for adoption and at 21 she was allowed to find out who her father was. "So imagine that when you're going through the paperwork and you discover your dad is a rather famous rock singer.' "But the thing that was a bit annoying about it, a newspaper had found out about it and they had flown her over to America and they a paparazzi sitting in the bushes waiting to take a picture of the reunion, Rod was very grumpy with her for doing that."

What key is 3rd Capo?

Moving back up Key with no capo Key with capo on: 1st fret 3rd fret C C#/Db D#/Eb A A#/Bb C G G#/Ab A#/Bb 2 more rows

A capo is a tool that clamps down on all the strings at a certain fret, which effectively moves the guitar’s nut up to that fret. It can also act as your index finger when you play barre chords. It is a great tool that many guitarists use to make songs easier to play or sound different. With planning, you can use the capo to minimize the number of barre chords needed (not that you should avoid them though!). Without a capo, songs with complex voicings are almost unplayable. A couple of examples include “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles, “Riptide” by Vance Joy, and “Collide” by Howie Day. The capo is also a useful tool for singers, because it can be moved around to change the key. So if you’re not comfortable singing a particular song, for example, in the key of C, simply move the capo around until you find a key that you’re comfortable with. Lastly, with enough knowledge of chords and chord progressions, you can essentially play any song in any key as long as you know the song’s chord progression and how to use this tool effectively.
