FROM swimming trunks to sunglasses, Love Island contestants never fail to deliver some of the best outfits. But you might be wondering how the islanders manage to deliver such fresh looks day in and day out. We've got the answers...

Where do Love Island contestants get their clothes from?

Avid Love Island viewers will know that the islanders all bring their own suitcases with them into the villa. These bags are full to the brim of fresh fits which the contestants pick out themselves ahead of the show. For the past three years, fast-fashion retailer I Saw It First was the official clothing sponsor of Love Island and would kit out the Islanders with clothing for the duration of the show. But in a bid to be more sustainable, contestants this year are wearing second-hand clothes. 1 Love Island has partnered with eBay in a bid to become more sustainable Credit: ITV Islanders will have a shared wardrobe in their villa for the first time, stocked with garments provided via a new partnership with eBay. eBay has recruited stylist Amy Bannerman to style the participants this year - having previously styled celebrities such as Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Sophie Turner, Jonathan Van Ness and Lena Dunham. An executive producer of the show, Mike Spencer, said: "We are thrilled to be pairing up with eBay this year as our pre-loved fashion partner. "As a show, we strive to be a more eco-friendly production with more focus on ways in which we can visibly show this on screen." Show bosses hope the move will inspire viewers to become more sustainable and opt for pre-loved clothing items when shopping. The partnership was applauded by 2021 contestant Brett Staniland, who turned down free clothes in the villa and protested at Molly-Mae Hague’s PrettyLittleThing fashion show in London. Excited about the news, Brett tweeted: "This feels like a big step in the right direction & I’m extremely proud and happy to see this change!" Love Island has previously been slated for its ties with fast-fashion, and affiliate network Awin revealed that online fashion sales rocketed by over a tenth during last year's season.

Do Love Island contestants get clothes for free?

In previous years, contestants were given an allowance before going into the villa.

However, islanders won't be getting any free clothes this year.

All the clothes stocked in the wardrobe from eBay will go back to a second-hand seller called Go Thrift, where they will be resold, or they will go to the charity shops that eBay works with.

This is because the bosses want to make the entire process waste-free.

Are there cameramen in Love Island?

Speaking of filming, the singles may interact with production, but the same can't be said for the camera crew. "There are no cameramen visible to the Islanders unless one slips up and you see them in the bushes," Alexandra revealed. "There are cameras just posted around the villa, that's it."

Love Island fans are well aware what's about to go down when they hear, "This week, a hot new bombshell enters the villa..." but what about everything that happens when the Islanders are off-camera?

According to Love Island USA alum Alexandra Stewart, not much. The season one star dished on life in the villa in a pair of TikToks shared August 1 and 5, answering what she considered to be the most commonly-asked questions about being an Islander. First up, the phones. Every Islander has one, but they're not exactly useful for anything beyond receiving messages from production and other contestants (most of which result in someone yelling, "I've got a text!"). "All the phones have different dates and times on them," Alexandra shared. "No one knows unless you have a sundial and know how to read it." For those wondering why they can't simply keep track of the date and time? "You're in confinement for two weeks before you even go into the villa," Alexandra explained. "You could technically count, but no one is thinking that. You don't even know what's going on at that point."
