Does God give warning signs?

God sends us the warning signs but we trivialize them; we convince ourselves that we can handle whatever is coming, that if we survived the last time, we can do it again. Through His Word, God reminds us to take caution and be alert. How gracious is He to speak to us through His Word.

I’ve become so accustomed to seeing the signs on the floor and not slipping that I now doubt whether the floor is actually wet. “Surely, it’s dry by now”, is what I tell myself. The sign is there alerting us of what happened before we walked into the building, someone mopped and therefore it is slippery. God’s Word is the lamp unto our feet and light unto our path (Psalm 119:105); His word alerts us of what’s coming. He lets us know when we are going down a slippery slope or when we are about to fall due to temptation. He guides us when we are too busy with life, or too busy on our phones that we don’t see what’s ahead. God sends us the warning signs but we trivialize them; we convince ourselves that we can handle whatever is coming, that if we survived the last time, we can do it again. Through His Word, God reminds us to take caution and be alert. How gracious is He to speak to us through His Word. PRAY: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your continual guidance. I ask that You would increase my discernment so that I can heed Your warnings. I pray that You’d remind me of Your Word that lights my path and cautions me of what’s to come. Father, I pray for a spirit of humility and not one of pride and I thank You for being my protector and my covering when I’ve made poor choices. I pray that grace would abound as I serve You and continue to learn of You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

REFLECT: Is God sending you a warning about a certain situation in your life? Maybe something happened at work? Or perhaps it’s related to a friend? Are you listening to Him or following your own wisdom?

What is the hardest piano technique?

Most difficult pianistic technique Difficult rhythms/syncopation/cross-rhythms. ... Rapidly repeated notes (e.g. Scarlatti) ... Trills, mordents, ornaments etc. ... Polyphonic writing (e.g. Bach) and/or countermelodies. ... Octaves. ... Rapid passages (scale-like runs etc) ... Anything involving the weak fingers (i.e. 3-4-5) More items...

First of all, in piano playing, polyphonic writing involves not only one hand "doing something different than the other", but also different voices (parts) in the same hand, which is the hardest. A 5-part fugue (like the C# minor from WTC/I) requires different dynamics between the two hands of course, but most importantly, between the fingers of the same hand, if one wants to make all the themes, answers and counter-themes distinguishable. Second of all, polyphonic writing can't be the hardest. I don't have great technique but polyphony is my thing and the Bach fugues are my strong point. But I can't play a Liszt or a Rachmaninov concerto, or several of the Chopin etudes, or Gaspard de la nuit.
