Now you can "like" an unlimited number of tracks. Spotify remains the leader in the streaming music competition with 130 million subscribers worldwide, compared to Apple Music's estimated 60 million and Amazon Music's 55 million. But for a long time, Spotify's users – 286 million counting those who use the free version of the service – had been asking to be able to save more songs, one of Spotify's community users posted Tuesday. Previously, users could save only 10,000 items in their Spotify library. When that limit was hit, they got a message saying, "Epic collection my friend. There's no more room in Your Library. To save more, you'll need to remove some songs or albums." More than 12,500 votes had been cast for the feature over the last six years in Spotify's Community Ideas Exchange, according to the post. So Spotify let one of its community "Rock Stars" announce the removal of the cap.

Obviously this particular version of the song was not recorded 3,400 years ago, but rather in 2008, so it may not be what you’re looking for. With this in mind, we’ve also dug up the oldest recordings on Spotify. The oldest music recording available on Spotify is a French compilation album titled Anthologie De La Chanson Française, which has recordings dating between 1900 and 1920. Singers included on the compilation include Henri Fursy, Lucien Boyer, Ainé Mevisto, Gabriel Montoya, and more. Recordings didn’t exist for very long before 1900, and especially not music recordings. It was a while before people fine-tuned the technology enough to produce the high-quality music recordings we are accustomed with these days. Still, it can be interesting to hear music from a time past, and that’s why we’ve gathered here today. If you’re interested in hearing some even older recordings, albeit not music, Spotify also has a compilation called The Oldest Recorded Voices in History. This compilation includes speeches dating between 1888 and 1912, from people like Robert Browning, Thomas Edison, Florence Nightingale, and more.
