Does Sibelius expire?

If you have a perpetual licence, it is perpetual and never expires. All you might get asked to do is to renew the Support Plan, which grants you access to updates and online support without further charge. If the Support Plan expires, then you can no longer update Sibelius.

You seem to be confused. You started this thread by saying that you already had a perpetual licence for Sibelius Ultimate 2019. If that is the case, then you already have a Software Updates + Support Plan. Nothing has changed in Avid Licensing for Sibelius Ultimate since the time that you acquired your perpetual licence for Sibelius Ultimate 2019. What might be happening is that your Software Updates + Support Plan is about to expire, one year after your first purchase of the perpetual licence. The cost of the first year of the Software Updates + Support Plan was included in the purchase price of the perpetual licence. > If I only need to get a support plan how do I go about this through Avid You can renew your Support Plan (provided that it has not expired by more than a few weeks) at your My Avid account:

https://my.avid.com/products

Usually, you can renew for 1 year, or for 3 years at a discount. If your Software Updates + Support Plan expired a long time ago, then the only way forward is much more expensive, and involves purchasing an upgrade:

https://www.avid.com/sibelius-ultimate/upgrades-and-renewals

in the section:

"Sibelius 8 or Sibelius | Ultimate with an expired 1-Year Software Updates + Support Plan" It is more cost-effective to keep your Software Updates + Support Plan up-to-date than to let it expire and then have to use the upgrade route.
