You can go to school as much as you want, but there are just some things that make you smarter than average that you're born with or are just part of your personality. If you're an only child or the oldest sibling.

Basically, getting your parents' full attention early on in your life helped make you such an intelligent person. So only children and older siblings have an intelligent edge from early on, which has nothing to do with the parents' IQs. For people who have siblings, the older child normally takes on the "teaching" role in the relationship. True story, even though my little brother thinks he's smarter than me, I'll never let him forget that I taught him how to read.

You're a lefty.

Sorry righties, but science says lefties are naturally more creative and better at remembering things. According to research and studies by The University of Athens, left-handed people were better at quickly coming up with solutions and creative ideas when faced with mental challenges.

You stay up late.

Science says that people who stay up late normally make higher incomes and are just more intelligent than those who wake up early. Studies show that night owls are better at inductive reasoning and innovative thinking too. Staying up late is one way to set yourself up for success because you're more likely to have a more comfortable life.

You can make people laugh.

A study done in the '70s proved that comedians have higher IQs compared to other average people. Aside from being smarter, funny people are also better conversationalists and are more sexually attractive. That being said, it's also been proven that how funny you are relates to how many sexual partners you've had.

You're introverted.

There's a lot of evidence out there that shows introverted people are more intelligent on average. For example, a study done by The Gifted Development Center showed that 60 percent of gifted children are introverts. Studies also show that introverts are more verbally intelligent than extroverts. It's not like if you're an unfunny, right handed extroverted morning person that means you're not smart. These are just some traits that could possibly indicate you're smarter than average. IQ scores are on a decline, reversing a trend that saw scores rising at a steady rate during the 20th century, according to a new study. Researchers from the Ragnar Frisch Centre for Economic Research in Norway studied the IQ scores of about 730,000 Norwegian men born between 1962 and 1991. They found that scores grew by nearly three percentage points every decade for people born between 1962 and 1975. But among those born after 1975, scores fell. The cause of the IQ decline is due to environmental factors, and not genetics, said Ole Rogeburg, a senior research fellow at Ragnar Frisch Centre and co-author of the study on IQ scores, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal. “It’s not that dumb people are having more kids than smart people, to put it crudely,” Rogeburg told CNN. “It’s something to do with the environment, because we’re seeing the same differences within families.” Environmental factors include differences in the way young people are educated, increases in time spent online, changes in nutrition and less reading overall. The downward trend is a reversal of the Flynn effect, a term that describes the vast improvement of IQ scores in many parts of the world throughout the 20th century. According to the study, the Flynn effect peaked in the mid-1970s and has declined in the decades since.
